August Update!

It's been awhile since I posted last and it's FINALLY September! Baby month! Yay! Here's our update...

On August 17th, I had my baby shower. Isaac and I got to his parents place around 6pm the night before and the planning began. We set up tables, chairs and put together decorations the entire night. It was fun! I loved decorating, even though I'm not very good at it. That morning at 5am my mother-in-law, Macae and I headed to Walmart to get the rest of the supplies. We were buying ingredients for cupcakes and a few other things. When we walked in the door, we noticed they were displaying pink and turquoise cupcakes (the colors of my baby shower)! We decided to buy the actual cupcakes instead of ingredients. It saved us several hours and we were able to relax at least a little bit that morning. My sister-in-law, Normandy, made the CUTEST fruit carriage. I LOVED it. That girl is so talented! The shower was so fun! We did a few activities that I've never seen at other baby showers. It was nice to be a bit original! We got a package of diapers and gave everyone a few and they were to write encouraging words for me on the front or back for when I get up to change Jane's diaper in the middle of the night. They are only for night time diaper changes, so at least I will get in a good laugh in the wee hours of the morning! Macae interviewed Isaac the night before and the video was shown at the shower. It was sooo funny! It was about my cravings, what parent will most likely say no, who will be Jane's favorite person, ect. After every answer was asked, it was paused, I answered what I thought he'd say then they played his answer. It was fun. Normandy made a cute intro to the video where it showed baby girls name, due date and played some cute baby music for when everyone first entered. Everything turned out soo cute and every one was so generous! It was a great day! Macae was such a great host! Thank you for everything!! My father-in-law took some pictures of the decor!

August 20th, at 35 weeks, was the beginning of my weekly appointments! I was only dilated to a 1. With Jett, I didn't dilate or efface until I was induced causing it to be a LONG labor. Well average for a first time mom. The next appointment on the 27th, I was still only dilated to a 1 but 50% effaced! Yay for progression! Last Thursday, I started contracting. I was on my feet all day so I knew that was probably why. So I laid down and they went away. I was only 36.5 weeks and I wanted her to be born in September so I didn't want her to come then. Friday night, more contractions, not as frequent but they were painful! Laid down and they went away. No contractions Saturday or Sunday... but Tuesday came. I started getting really bad lower back pain.. Luckily, we did most of our deep cleaning on Saturday so I didn't do much at all that day and Jett was sooo good! It was a good day. Every time I got up to do anything, I'd have a contraction. From 8pm to 9:30pm, I was having contractions every 5 minutes. Then from 3-6 in the morning I was having PAINFUL contractions every 20 minutes. So inconsistent! It was discouraging. I had an appointment in the morning and I wanted to wait until then. Got to my appointment and I had not changed at ALL from the last week. This little girl is a stinker! She wants to stay put! Which I am okay with for the next week or two. :) We are counting the DAYS till we meet our sweet angel! Can't wait for her!

Jett is getting smarter than ever! And he's becoming a mamas boy. I love it! I loveee his age right now. He's so fun! Every night he gives me kisses on my nose, eyes, ears, cheeks and lips. He points them out before kissing them and it's routine. It's the sweetest thing ever! He's getting way too big! I can't believe my baby isn't going to be a baby anymore! He's going to be a BIG brother! Where'd the time go?

I hope everyone enjoyed their summer! Next time I write, I'll be a mama of two!!
