Grateful

You know, life throws you things that you do not expect. People will hurt you. But people will be there for you when you're hurt. You are given hard trials. Some that may seem impossible to overcome. Two quotes I absolutely LOVE and always remember are: "You are only given this life because you are strong enough to live it." and "If God brings you to it; He will bring you through it."

I am so grateful for those who I know will always be there for me regardless of who I am, how I act, who I married, who my family is, ect. I have decided to dedicate this post to the things and people I am grateful for.

I am grateful for my husband. I am grateful for how loving he is. I am grateful for his kinds words and encouragement he always gives. This man would never say one bad thing about anyone. He always find the good in everyone. Even if they have hurt him. He never has yelled at me or our children. Even if he tried, he'd end up in tears. He is such  good daddy. Jett loves his daddy so much and is so excited to see him when he walks through the door from work. I love Jane's smile when she looks at her daddy. And it's not only her smile, you can see the love she has for him through her eyes. I can't imagine my life without him. He is the best man I know.

I am grateful for my son. He made me who I am today. He made me a mommy. And I will be forever grateful for him. He is so smart and loving. He loves to help with his baby sister. He loves to "quweem up" (clean up) when she has a dirty face or when he spills something on the floor. He helps me put laundry away. This boy is so kind. He says thank you for everything. He loves to say prayers and the entire time we are at the table he asks to say the prayer over and over again. When I am having a bad day, he comes up and says, "Awww mommy, hug." He gives the best hugs. Love my baby boy.

I am grateful for my daughter. I am so grateful that she came when she did. She is so fun. She is a sassy little thing. She loves her big brother so much. She looks at him with those big brown eyes of hers and is so intrigued by him. She is so happy all.the.time. It makes being a mom so easy. She is such a mama's girl. I can't walk out of the room without her having a break down. And I don't even care. I have learned to do my make up and dishes one handed. Love my sweet girl.

I am grateful for my mom. Everyday I wish she was with me, but I know where she is and am grateful to know I will see her again. She was the biggest example of how a person should be. So kind, so genuine, so spiritual. She's everything I want to be and hope to be.

I am grateful for my dad and step-mom. Meshing our two families haven't been easy and it still isn't easy. We've had some bad times, but we have had some really good times, as well. But doesn't every family? I know they will be there for me always. I am so grateful for them and everything they provided to me when I was growing up and even now. Thank you, parentals. ;)

I am grateful for ALL of my siblings whether you are biological, step or in laws. Everyone of you have had a huge impact in my life.

I am grateful for modern medicine. Without it, my buddy wouldn't be here. I am so grateful he was diagnosed with diabetes at such a young age. Who knows how much harder it would have been if he got it as a teenager.

I am grateful for the Gospel. I am so grateful for the Atonement and I know everyone can be forgiven from their sins. I am grateful for the peace and happiness it brings me and the love I know my Heavenly Father haves for me. No one is perfect. Everyone has made mistakes. But it doesn't make it okay to judge anyone for the past or the present. I am guilty of this, I will admit. I am trying to be better. I am not perfect and I never will be. I have said and done things I regret. But I know, I will continue making mistakes throughout the rest of my life but I can be forgiven from these things through the Atonement of our Savior.

I have come to understand that you can't make everyone happy. But the people who matter will stick by your side and will love you, regardless. Life is hard. People will come and go. But it's not the end of the world. Everything will be okay.

Well hello, again!

It's been 5 months since I blogged last. I do document most of the kids stuff on Facebook and Instagram, but if I posted every little thing they did... I'd post every hour of the day. I definitely need to blog more. So here's what has been going on lately..

Jane
She is just getting too big, too fast! I just want her to stay little, forever! Nowadays, she has mastered rolling from her back to her tummy. When laying on her back she pushes her heels to the floor and moves a few feet. She smacks her like crazy! And makes this weird noise like she is sucking in her breath. She thinks its so funny. She loves to use her voice. The other day, we put her in her swing and she screamed and talked for an hour straight! It was so funny! She loves her toes and her hands. And we can't forget tubby time! She also likes to pull herself up while sitting supported. Like now, as I'm trying to type this, she wants to grab the keyboard. Where did my baby go??

We have been cloth diapering. And it hasn't been too bad! The worst part is taking the inserts out of the actual diaper and throwing them into the wash. The smell is just awful. But, honestly, I am so glad I decided to start. I totally wish I would have with Jett. I am saving 50-60 dollars a month on diapers! Even more now that Jett is potty trained. It's nice!

We started sleep training Jane a few weeks ago. And by the second night, she was sleeping 6-8 hours straight. There have been a few nights where she hasn't been to happy about it, but overall she has been doing well. Currently, she's been sleeping with us because shes been sick. Now she's feeling better, it's back to the crib!

At Jane's 4 month doctor appt, we were told they changed the ages of when babies can have baby food. Starting at 4 months, they can eat anything! As long as you put 3 or 4 days between the different foods, just in case there is an allergic reaction. So she has had a bunch of different stuff! Squash is her favorite!

Jett
Jett is probably the most polite two year old you'll ever meet! He says thank you for everything. My dad took him to the store when we were in Tooele last weekend and was saying how polite he was. He said, "He even told me thank when he gave me something!" He talks so much now. He knows all of his ABC's, most of his shapes, some colors and numbers. We're still working on those. He's a smart little guy! He is OBSESSED with Bob the Builder. This kid has so many tractors, it's ridiculous. Every time we leave the house, he asks if we can go find some "diggers."

On the way down to his diabetes appointment last Friday, we decided to stop at Hill Airforce Base to look at all the airplanes. Another thing Jett is obsessed with! He had so much fun! He got to the point where he would stop and say, "cheese!" in front of every airplane because how much I was taking pictures. Here's the picture overload!

Isaac and I
Isaac is just busy with school and work! He is in his last semester of his undergraduate degree and I am so proud of him! He hasn't had the easiest ride with school but he has stuck with it. He'll take a year or two break, hopefully find a better paying job and will go to graduate school either Fall 2015 or 2016. It all depends how on well he does on the graduate school test and what schools accept him. He is currently applying for jobs as a job coach with LDS employment services. He has applied for 5 positions located in: West Jordan, Cedar City, Vernal, Idaho Fall and Federal Way, WA. We have been told the Federal Way, WA positioned has already been filled, but we are waiting to hear from the other four! There seem to always be job coach positions, so I'm sure there will be many more positions being applied for in the next two months before graduation. I am in the second to last semester of school. I wouldn't say it's been easy, but it's been manageable going to school with two kids. I started the semester taking 9 credits. One of those courses was a basic 7- week geology course because I need one extra credit to meet the 120 credits for my degree andddd I finished the course in 10 days. I wanted to get it out of the way before my semester got crazy, plus it was super easy. The summer semester, I will take my last 7 credits and graduate! I just received my graduation packet in the mail! 5 more months, I can do this! By August, Isaac and I will be college graduates! Woo! I am so excited to see what the future holds for our family.

Well that's all from us! I hope everyone is enjoying the semi-warm weather!

Jane's Birth Story!

Well I thought I'd better get started on blogging about Jane's birth story before things got too busy... :)

From my very first OB appointment, my doctor told me I could be induced at 39 weeks. I made the decision early on that I wanted to be. 4 weeks before I was to be 39 weeks, we scheduled my induction. We scheduled it early to make sure I was the first on the list. My doctor told me that medical inductions were over elective inductions so don't get disappointed if I didn't get in until later that day. I made sure I didn't get my hopes up and expected she wouldn't be here till the day after. I was to call bright and early in the morning, 5:30 am. I didn't sleep AT.ALL. that night because I was so excited. It was like Christmas. Well, I called and they told me they were sooo busy the night before and to expect a call between 8 and 9am. Or I could call and get an update whenever I wanted. I waited until 8:15 and called to get my update. The nurse told me there was one medical induction before me. She said to expect a call back around noon. It seriously was the longest morning of my life! At 11:30, I got a call telling me to be there by 12:30. We had everything packed and literally were out the door and driving off to our new adventure within 30 seconds of the phone call. We stopped and got lunch and headed to the hospital! I got all checked in and by 1:15, I was on pitocin and was ready to go!

I was only dilated to 1 centimeter and still high so my nurse told me to expect a 12+ hour labor... At 3:45, I was a 2. So my nurse let my doctor know and my doctor said she would come in after her office hours and break my water. My contractions didn't really hurt but my nurse said once my water was broke my contractions would get stronger. So I decided to get an epidural before they got too bad. At 4:45, I got the epidural and at 5:20, I was dilated to a 3 and my doctor broke my water. Around 6:30, my nurse checked me again and I was at a 4 and 80% effaced. At 7:45, I was still a 4 but 100% effaced. She told me not to get discouraged and hopefully I would be a 6 the next time she checked. I joked and said, hopefully I'm a 10! I was going to have Isaac wait another hour before he went and put Jett to bed but I told him to just go now (at 7:45). My mother-in-law, Macae, came out to help out with Jett for the few days while we were in the hospital. She was a huge help! I wanted Isaac just to show her the routine and then he was going to come back. While Isaac was gone, I had a little bit of difficulty breathing, almost like I was trying to catch my breath. I was going to let my nurse know, but I had it under control after a few minutes. Isaac walked back into the room at 8:50 and my nurse came in to check me shortly after. Isaac was getting things ready so he could lay down to go to sleep, asking for blankets. My nurse then checked me and said, "ummmm, you're ready to deliver!" She rushed out of the room and said, "Help! She's ready to deliver! The baby is crowning right now." About 5 or 6 other nurses rushed in with different equipment. I was shaking so bad! It happened so fast. I didn't think I was going to deliver until 1 or 2 in the morning. She called my doctor and asked how fast she could get here. It was all so crazy. I kept laughing because I didn't know what else to do. My nurse told me to stop because the baby was coming out! My doctor walked in about 10-15 minutes later and said, "I wasn't expecting to deliver your baby til midnight!" My doctor got all her gear on. I pushed through two contractions, about 1 minute total and our sweet baby girl was here at 9:18pm! I ended up not tearing again. Which is nice! Easier and faster recovery time. My doctor said, "Now that's how you have a baby!" Jane weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 19 inches long! Soo tiny compared to Jett who was 9lbs 4oz and 20.5 inches long! It was such a priceless moment. They laid her on my chest and she had the cutest little cry.

They cleaned her up and gave her back to me to feed her. She did have a few difficulties. When I tried to feed her, she turned purple. It was so scary. I asked the nurse to come back in and she took her back to see what was wrong. Jane turned back to her normal color and they gave her back to me to try feeding again. She turned purple again. They ended up putting a tube down her throat and sooo much fluid came up. She went back to the NICU for a few hours after she was born to run some tests. Everything came back normal and it ended up being that she swallowed so much amniotic fluid which caused her to have difficulty breathing and swallowing.

We transferred to the mother and baby unit and ended up getting the princess suite. Everyone asked how we scored that room and we'd say, "Because we had the princess, of course!" Jett met his baby sister the next morning and it was such a perfect moment! He didn't want to stop holding her. He kept giving her kisses. It was the cutest thing ever.

We got to come home Thursday morning. It was so nice coming home! Jett is still trying to adjust now that we are home, as we all are. Thankfully Isaac has been off the entire week and doesn't have to go back till Thursday. He's been a HUGE help. He usually takes Jett since Jane relies on just me for feedings. Jane is such a good little nurser. She won't take a binky longer than 5-10 minutes until she spits it out and she thinks a bottle is weird. Haha. She rarely cries unless she's hungry. Even with diaper changes, she just lays there and looks around. I have been blessed with such a good baby!

I have the most perfect babies in the entire world. I love my son and daughter more than anything in this world. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for trusting me with these two beautiful children. I couldn't ask for more. They are perfect in every way. :)

August Update!

It's been awhile since I posted last and it's FINALLY September! Baby month! Yay! Here's our update...

On August 17th, I had my baby shower. Isaac and I got to his parents place around 6pm the night before and the planning began. We set up tables, chairs and put together decorations the entire night. It was fun! I loved decorating, even though I'm not very good at it. That morning at 5am my mother-in-law, Macae and I headed to Walmart to get the rest of the supplies. We were buying ingredients for cupcakes and a few other things. When we walked in the door, we noticed they were displaying pink and turquoise cupcakes (the colors of my baby shower)! We decided to buy the actual cupcakes instead of ingredients. It saved us several hours and we were able to relax at least a little bit that morning. My sister-in-law, Normandy, made the CUTEST fruit carriage. I LOVED it. That girl is so talented! The shower was so fun! We did a few activities that I've never seen at other baby showers. It was nice to be a bit original! We got a package of diapers and gave everyone a few and they were to write encouraging words for me on the front or back for when I get up to change Jane's diaper in the middle of the night. They are only for night time diaper changes, so at least I will get in a good laugh in the wee hours of the morning! Macae interviewed Isaac the night before and the video was shown at the shower. It was sooo funny! It was about my cravings, what parent will most likely say no, who will be Jane's favorite person, ect. After every answer was asked, it was paused, I answered what I thought he'd say then they played his answer. It was fun. Normandy made a cute intro to the video where it showed baby girls name, due date and played some cute baby music for when everyone first entered. Everything turned out soo cute and every one was so generous! It was a great day! Macae was such a great host! Thank you for everything!! My father-in-law took some pictures of the decor!

August 20th, at 35 weeks, was the beginning of my weekly appointments! I was only dilated to a 1. With Jett, I didn't dilate or efface until I was induced causing it to be a LONG labor. Well average for a first time mom. The next appointment on the 27th, I was still only dilated to a 1 but 50% effaced! Yay for progression! Last Thursday, I started contracting. I was on my feet all day so I knew that was probably why. So I laid down and they went away. I was only 36.5 weeks and I wanted her to be born in September so I didn't want her to come then. Friday night, more contractions, not as frequent but they were painful! Laid down and they went away. No contractions Saturday or Sunday... but Tuesday came. I started getting really bad lower back pain.. Luckily, we did most of our deep cleaning on Saturday so I didn't do much at all that day and Jett was sooo good! It was a good day. Every time I got up to do anything, I'd have a contraction. From 8pm to 9:30pm, I was having contractions every 5 minutes. Then from 3-6 in the morning I was having PAINFUL contractions every 20 minutes. So inconsistent! It was discouraging. I had an appointment in the morning and I wanted to wait until then. Got to my appointment and I had not changed at ALL from the last week. This little girl is a stinker! She wants to stay put! Which I am okay with for the next week or two. :) We are counting the DAYS till we meet our sweet angel! Can't wait for her!

Jett is getting smarter than ever! And he's becoming a mamas boy. I love it! I loveee his age right now. He's so fun! Every night he gives me kisses on my nose, eyes, ears, cheeks and lips. He points them out before kissing them and it's routine. It's the sweetest thing ever! He's getting way too big! I can't believe my baby isn't going to be a baby anymore! He's going to be a BIG brother! Where'd the time go?

I hope everyone enjoyed their summer! Next time I write, I'll be a mama of two!!
